hey so all my fish have red semi-inflamed gills. Other than that they are acting normal. All water parameters are normal and i just can't think of what else it could be... worrying about nothing? or is it some sort of bacterial infection?

Nh3 would be ammonia.

Re- check your ammonia level, and do a water change or two. (dont use a dip strip use a liquid test kit)

and yes, red gills are an indication of high ammonia levels like Pappy said.
Ammonia as low as .25 PPM can casue trouble in certain fish.

Bacterial issues sometimes give fish cloudy eyes, and not normally associated with red eyes.
Is it all the fish. or just a few?

I use the API liquid tests. It's all of my fish. I have already done 2 50% water changes in 2 days and my LFS checked out the water and got the same readings as me 0 ammonia and nitrites and nitrates. pH is normal and all other tests came out fine...

Red gills can also be a sign of drastic pH swings. If your water is very soft (has a low buffering ability) this can be a problem. If you are using a chemical to adjust the pH like they sell at the pet stores stop using it now.

It also may be flukes, worms, etc.

Here's a decent site that gives some descriptions of common gill issues.

Anything that causes gill irritation that can cause that.

High ammonia, nitrites or nitrates, bacterial infections, viral infections, Parasitic infections (like flukes), chemicals getting into the water, pH swings.

Low oxygen can also cause gulping with inflamed looking gills. So how is your water turnover? What is your water temperature and are you for sure it's accurate?

When did it happen? Was a new fish added before it happened? How long have the fish been in there and were they added at the same time? Do you feed feeders?
Any of that can introduce parasites or infections into your tank.

The water turnover is fine. I have the eclipse system. The water temp is a constant 78F And yea it's accurate, the thermometer I have is good and new.

The red gills happened about 4-5 days ago. I had added the fish a couple weeks ago. So no new fish in while. Yes they were pretty much added at the same time but the tank has been fine until the past few days. No feeders. Although I did add ad few new amano shrimp recently.

Is 0 ppm nitrate normal ie. is this a planted tank or do you have a DSB running?

I don't have the nitrate test, but the LFS said that they were normal, so I didn't mean to say 0 my bad sorry. But i have 1 bunch plant in there and gravel...
