Last weekend I set-up a 180g planted tank and am looking for a large centerpiece group. It has 3 bronze cories, 4 - 1" clown loaches, and 2 sunburst mollies in it currently.

I really like red hook silver dollars and I was thinking a group of 5-7 for the tank. In my searching have read that they tend to eat and destroy planted set-ups. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Any other suggestions? (discus is not an option at this time)

in a large planted tank, 2 or 3 silver dollar's will lightley trim your plants, its quite handy, I keep 2 5'' dollars in a planted tank, and it works fine, I feed them a twice a day, and my plants go unharmed, except for a little nibble every now and agen,.

You answered your own question.....
..the silvers will eat plants..
I just wanted to see if the information I was reading was reliable or way out to lunch.

Center P Fish== How about an Angel, or Discus (or any of the larger and more mild Chiclids).
I've had angels before and not a big fan. I would try discus except Im away at school right now and I dont really trust my parents maintain a delicate balance for them. Also, my water is more basic and hard and I'm sure would take a bit to reach the right parameters for them.
