red nano plants?

without knowing more about the tank (lighting, CO2, substrate, ferts), its hard to recommend something.

In the Aquascape placement option, there's a tab for red.
once you do that, you can change the order in which they are on the screen by size, the default setting is family.
You could also add some red in other ways, cherry shrimp, small fish, stones etc...

Sorry, here's a link to my tank journal.
I have used the APC plant finder forthis and other project... but in this case, there are no real small red plants on there though. That's part of the reason I'm doing some asking around.
Also, here's a link to a similar thread I started on APC.
Oh, and I will have Phoenix Rasbora and Cherry shrimp, so maybe I'm going through all this trouble for nothing. It's just an idea.

There aren't many red plants suitable for a nano tank. E. tenellus turns reddish under high light and Blyxa japonica has rusty red patterns in their leaves but probably not the standout red you're looking for.
Nesaea sp "red" is a slow growing stem plant that may be suitable but I've never had any luck growing it. Ludwigia sp. "guinea" is a smaller red Ludwigia that's slow growing enough that you won't trim weekly and not difficult to grow.

Ludwigia arcuata is a fine leaved stem plant that gets reddish in high light and good fert dosing.
There really aren't many that will look ok in a 2.5g.
Rotala rotundifolia turns pinkish red in bright light.....though you'll be trimming it often.

I had a small bulb that grew nice red leaves, I htink it was a tiger lotus, but not sure. I've seen pictures where it grew huge. Mine did not, I think because when I first put the bulb in the tank, I did not bury it for several months. it grew many small shoots that stayed small, and a lot of roots. After 2 or 3 months I planted it in a different tank, fully buried the roots and bulb, and it began to get a little bigger, but the whole plant never got bigger than about 4" in any direction, with leaves about the size of anubias nana... a little iron now an then gave it incredible red color, and it rarely lost leaves. in the end, my HC overtook it though, and now there's one single 1/2" leaf struggling to get light... it's pretty much done for.
