I went to my lfs the other day, just looking around. I saw fish that looked like red phantom tetras, but were labeled as serpaes.... Do they bear a resemblance or am i the one at fault not being able to tell which is which.....

Very easy to distinguish.;) Serpaes often have white edges on their anal and pelvic fins.;)

Lesser evil:
Red phantom>Serpaes

The latter can be vicious fin nippers.

ok thanks

When serpaes are small they look exactly the same as red phantom tetras. The only difference is Serpaes get much bigger and the not so obvious white edged fins.

well now it doesnt really matter, i changed my mind and want to go with the flame tetras, shouldnt be a large difference right? Are there any stricking similarities?
