so you guys recommend i get the hagen rather then the red sea? and the hagen one you need sugar. thats plain old sugar right? thanks

My wife got the Red Sea CO2 system for her 30gal tank. The pump is giving us trouble. I worked for about 2 days after we got it but down I have to take it out of the tank to get it to work and it makes noise now. I've read about others having the same troubles. I would recommend just making one out of a 2 liter bottle.

oOo I totally started a thread about my Red Sea CO2 system pump being a pain in the rear. I went around and around with the folks at Red Sea about it and finally got some answers. Mine is back to working and perfectly quiet now. Amazing enough. I still wouldn't recommend buying one though. I really wish I would have went with the Hagen ladder one. Trex have you taken the pump apart to clean it? The black part that the suction cups are attached to is just a cover. That slides off and then there is the part that covers the propeller that pops off so you can clean the propeller. Doing that fixed mine (for now). I'm thinking if you clean that pump every so often it'll be fine. As far as making noise goes, if you wiggle the pump around a bit it will stop. It's the rattling of that black cover that makes the noise (or so I was told). I'll post this on my other thread as well, I know there were other people having the same type of problems.

Yes I have. We have to take it apart about every 2 to 3 days to keep it working. I think I just a cheap pump they use.
