Red Tail Catfish

300 might be enough to house it but it would be kind of cramped IMO. No less than 500 for proper swimming space and twice that for a good habitation IMO.

How big of a tank do these fish need? And anyother information appreciated.

I also read that "reinforced" aquariums are recommended, like a strong acrylic tank. I think which sums up a lot. I have seen a few of these at the Baltimore aquarium. I think they are awesome and I'd love to own one but I don't have the space/money.

My question is which Red Tailed cats? One like is pictured above or a Sun Catfish, also called Red Tailed or Eclipse Cat plus a few others. Both get quite large but I belive the Sun Cat is the smaller of the two. I saw Sun Cats the other day in Wal-Mart.
