Where the ducks walk on the fish, PA
Some of you may remember me asking about the color of a grown brigs that I had rescued some time ago, and the coloring of it was stumping us all. Well it ended up dieing but before it died, I found out it was female because it layed a clutch for me. That clutch has hatched and after looking at all of my baby snails...which I end up doing alot of according to my husband, I do believe I have a red white young snail. I have checked the applesnail.net references and it says if the snail has a white/ivory shell base, red /brown stripes, and white foot - it is a red white. I have compared it to my yellow striped and my light purple striped. It's coloring is different than either one. I tried to get pictures of it, but my camera will not focus without the flash, and the flash distorts the color. I think that is what happened with trying to figure out the grown snails coloring. I think it too was the elusive red white but taking pictures with the flash made the coloring look wrong. It is one snail that I will be keeping! The next question is, what sex is it.....and what color to breed it with to MAYBE get more of them.

how exciting!!! That is my alltime fav color!
hopefully you can breed more of them...i will be waiting :D

i also think i have red/whit babies they are different than magentas, and the rest but they are still babies around half in, or so,..
been having a heck of a time figuring out what they are and as you said pic change the color,.. lol

breed with ivory as not to change the genetics,..

ivory in snails acts like paint, you can get ivory, the color you bred to and a lightened version of the color,.. that is how it has worked out for me,..
then you have awhat ever color that may be in the past parental history,.
