Red White Brigs

Thanks Rachel. I have a couple that have the same reddish hue but are dark footed. I thought those were the burgandy, so much for what I know. They aren't the typical dark striped purple color.

Take pics of yours dixienut I would love to see them.

Either way they are lovaly snoopy! I actually think I have one like that myself but it's still small it could change on me I guess as it gets bigger.

Th eones that I called burgundy (before all these color calculators, charts, and diagrams were so readily available) was a light foot, light base shell with dark reddish striping. It had both "cream" and red colored stripes. I called it burgundy and it was bred with my golds and was how I originally got started with all my magentas and dark purples. I will look to see if I have pics. I probably do. You can see in the pic, the magenta was from teh very first clutch I ever hatched and was the result of hte burgundy and a gold in another breeding tank. The others were predominantly gold, jade, and chestnut striped. I then moved most of them into this tank, introducing the ivories....and away I went, lol.
here ya go (this takes me way way back, lol, these were my "original" breeders from a couple years ago):

That is what I call burgundy then :) I find that the offspring from those is alot of wild type striped with some pinks and purples. It was the originator of all my magentas and dsp's :D

That is cool! I may have some magentas in my future then!!! The male that mated with my old female, which I now think was the same "burgandy", was one of yours. Maybe if I breed it with my lsp/magenta from you, I will get more of them. What do you think?

I think its really likely. I would pair it with a "wild type" or an ivory and see what you get. That is how I got the best results. I honestly haven't found any of those calculators to be at all accurate.
