Redcap Oranda, age = wen?

An Oranda should be quite happy together with a a regular fantail, unless it grows a particularly large wen and begins to have difficulty competing for food. I'd be more worried about your telescope-eyed fish getting bullied by regular fantails, but this may not necessarily happen either. All of the fancy breeds have their own limitations, and should be monitored for signs of problems. About the only thing for certain is that you don't want any single-tails in the mix.

Thanks. At the walmart where I got them, they were all in the same tank, and all seemed to be quite happy together... I'll be sure to watch out for any problems <3

I have Moors with my Orandas. As long as you keep an eye on them, they should be fine. I also give a mixture of floating and sinking foods. The orandas eat what's on the top and the Moors pick at what they can see on the bottom.

That sounds like a good idea. I stopped by Walmart today, and saw a black moor that looked just like Yoda! I wanted him so bad! Maybe I'll get him tomorrow.

my moor has no issues with feeding alongside my orandas as i feed only sinking pellets and sinking foods such as peas as i wont risk floaty issues by feeding at the surface. just make sure you have a large enough tank for all of them, absolute minimum of 20g for the 1st fish and 10g for each fish added after that. i have a red cap oranda in with my black moor among a few other fancies (fantails and orandas) in my tank, they get along fine, the moor is now coming up for 7" and the red cap oranda is around 6". i find the easiest way to pick out an oranda over a fantail is look at their face, the fantails tend to look more pointed, whereas the orandas tend to have a chubbier rounder face.
