Oh wow, I just noticed that this board doesn't have my location posted in my user data on the side. I'm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. West side of the state. We have I'd say greater than 25 LFS's around here. I've been to about 15 of them myself. Lots of them have good stuff
The Crypts are brown yes. I believe them to be Crypt Wendtii, but some of them look different. As for the different layer under the sand? No, I do not. I have between 3 and 5" of sand in the tank. I like the rolling bottom look where there are dips and ridges.
On a side note, I finally put the piece of driftwood in the tank that covers the filter down tube. It looks great, just have to cover the sides of it now. Its not perfect but with some more plants it'll sure look the part. I'll get pics up later.
And yes, there are a LOT of females on this board.
A quick note, water changes are your friend when you have as much Dark driftwood as I do. The floor of the tank got 2x as bright after a water change. The water was very brown stained. I should take another picture.
Ha ha, yeh, I guess I forgot to think about that comment to much. Perhaps it is younger girls, or perhaps a percentage. I do think that it is a larger than not percentage though that's all. Didn't mean to get up anyone's goat.
Tank looks good now Red, can't wait for the stem plants to reach the top at the back. You'll have to post pics as it progresses.
