RedStar Quick*Rise Fast Acting Dry Yeast

the red star quic rise has other ingredients in it other than the yeast itself. I saw that at the store and bought the regular active yeast as it is just yeast. This may be something to consider in the future.

i do 1 packet of redstar active yeast
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda

i get some luke warm/warm water in a glass about 1/4 cup and mix the yeast in it for about a minute and then mix it every few mins to make sure there are still bubbles for about 10

I fill my 2 litre coke bottle to about 1.5 inches below where the neck curves up and i add the 2 cups sugar and baking soda, close lid and shake for 30 secs.

Then after 10 mins of the yeast sitting i pour it in an drill the lid and put my tubing in. Cut the tubing at a sharp angle so that you can slip it through the hole. I would say make the hole small enoug that you cant pull the tubing through without pliers. Then when you pull it through alil, get the pliers and pul through more ensuring a tight seal. I have co2 producing in about 15 mins-30 mins after sealed, it works very fast and i can see the gas pushing the water out of the tubing, if you arent seeing this, you have a leak.

good luck :)

i had issues at first, the hole was too big and co2 was leaking, i could tell because no co2 pushing the water out.
