reducing noise on bio wheel?

Got 4 tanks all with double Penguins on them (4X 350's, 3X 200 and a 1550) and I do get a bubbling brook sound. Don't really hear it unless I listen for it.

It's background noise; heck, people spend mega bucks for white noise surf sounds to help them relax! I got the sounds as a side benefit plus the bonus of fishies to watch!

I vaguely remember reading a post where someone suggested installing something that would deflect the splashing water. I suppose this could be anything- most likely a flat surface as close as possible to the output of water. I have seen clear plastic soap dishes/holders at Target that have suction cups. Maybe you could stick one of these to the tank wall directly under the biowheel's waterfall.

It will quiet down after the break in period. Raising the water level will also help. If it is a mecanical noise may I suggesst inspecting the impeller. It can make a terrible noise if it is not operating correctly.
