Reef salt

Depends on what brands you are talking about. The only experience I have is with SeaChem Reef Salt and it does seem to help keep my calcium levels higher than when doing water changes with SeaChem Marine Salt. But if you are using a calcium reactor or supplementing calcium in an other way I do not see any real benefit.

I dont have a reactor

I was going to use instant ocean reef crystals i have had good success with instant ocean. Does anyone know anything about this brand, how much is seachem?

I've used IO for my reef for years. I supplemented calcium, which always ended up being cheaper for me than switching brands. IO is fine.

There are a number of calcium supplement options--you just have to review them and see what works best for your tank, with your target level, and alkalinity.

If you owned a Farrarri, would you put regular gas in it to save money?? :thud: But you are right, in many markets. I live close to an LFS in Atlanta hwere it is 52 dollars a 200 gal. mix bucket. This is just 3 dollars more than IO for the same quantity... :coffee2:
