I can't really believe I'm doing this but here goes.
I have an adult Reeves turtle that is about 15 years old. I have owned him for 12 of those years. Shell link is like 6 inches. He is in excellent health, is active and lives a pampered life. He is friendly and tame. He is also habituated to live with all kinds of fish. He has lived with a dozen different species of tropical fish. Literally hundreds of fish over the years. He does not eat them (except when they die on their own). He currently lives with rainbowfish and some livebearers. He is a good boy.
The only reason I am giving him up is due to an impending move. I will include all his food, I have quite a bit. I know these guys go for about $50 but I would rather find him a great home. Anyway, here's the deal, since he is free here are my conditions:
1- You must be experienced with aquatic turtles. Proper set up is a must.
2- He needs at least a 55 gallon tank. He currently lives in a 75 gallon.
3- He needs to live alone. He has never been around other turtles. It would stress him out.
4- You must be over 21. No offense to the younger folk I just want to make sure he goes to someone mature and settled.
5- This will be pick up only in Queens, NY.
I will also be selling off his set up. I have a lot of top notch equipment, canister filters, tank, stand, lights, large piece of wood, etc. Let me know if you are interested. But nothing is selling until I find him a good home.
