what's the difference between a fuge and a sump, if any???...i'm always confused when it comes to this.

a fuge is a refugium where you grow plants to help reduce nitrates and provide pods..
a sump is basically a place to put your equipment out of the way, and a place to add top off water, and sometimes more LR so its not taking up all your space in the DT..
you can add a refugium to the sump as well, but do it after the skimmer

melevsreef is a great place to look for info on sumps. that's where i found the info (thanks clown-lover) on how to design my sump/fuge. i run one based on melevs sump model F and i love it
