Im starting up a reef aquarium and I have built a refugium for it. But lately I have been wondering if I built it right. Its a 20gal long that has a 5 inch space for the water to flow into it. then over a foot of sand, LR, and other. The last section is for my pumps. Should i knock all the walls down and have one big system and mount my pump on the wall of the glass?

Its best to pump into the fuge and flow back into the tank if possible this way the pod popualtion can move to the tank alive.
see i like the pump into and flow out of but I custom built the stand out of very thick angle iron and cant just redo it. The tank is full of water and already in the house. I might be able to rig something up, but I doubt it.
I am putting my refugium in a bookcase next to the tank dont know if that would help at all but that is what I have come up with.
