Hi Friends !

Can Ghost Shrimps (and other types of shrimps) be kept with small and peaceful fishes ? Can I keep them with Tetras, Corys, Otos etc ?

yup.

People claim with there long arms they can grab small fishes. But I haven't seen that happen before.

I have ghost shrimp in with glass cats, a beta, hatchet fish, and a few others. I've never had any problems with fish picking or shrimp grabbing. They get along fine.

Depending on the size of the ghost shrimp, the older bigger ones can be aggressive towards smaller fish (fry) and other shrimp, i dont suggest you keep them with cherry shrimps or other types of shrimps (unless its other ghosts) because in a few days you will see your ghost shrimp with a big fat red cigar in his mouth..

if you plan to keep them with any bigger fish then just give it some hiding places, caves, wood, plants

I keep ghost shrimp with my cherry shrimp, no issues that i know of.
I've only seem them grab a fish once, that was when a ghost shrimp and my betta both wanted to eat the same worm.
The betta grabbed the worm and swam off, the shrimp grabbed the betta and tried to climb up him to the worm.

No damage done.

I get ghost shrimp at my LFS for 1$ for 12 as snacks for my cichlids. They last about 5 tenths of a second in my tank. I'm not sure why you would keep them in your tank as a pet, but if all else fails your fish will be happy you gave them a nice snack. They're cheap enough to test it out. If you want to buy more expensive shrimp, I suggest using these 1st and if they survive for a few weeks buy some more expensive ornamental ones. But remove the ghost shrimp before adding the new ones.

Many people find them as fascinating to watch as their fish!
