My wife, for one reason or another, has been considering removing the foam 3D background that we installed in the beginning. It is the 1" thick flat type. It is an acrylic tank and the background is basically held on with beads of Aquarium silicone. I don't think it will be to tough to get out since it was installed in sections.

Our main question is... What do you think will cause more stress for the Africans we are housing in the tank? 1. Removing the background with the fish in the tank? 2. Transferring the fish to a smaller temporary tank?

Thanks...

Gary

#1 will be worse...I don't think you will be that lucky to get it out easily.

i agree, move them to a smaller tank

yea id move them out for a short time, doesnt have to even be a fishtank,i once used the sink in my bathroom to hold a dozen guppies when my first 10 gallon started leaking lmao ,i know i know, they wer only there for about an hour .. i went and bought a new bare 10 gal for like 8 bucks at my LFS and transfered everything ( rocks, filter, water ) into it. didnt lose a single fish :)
