Removing a sticker from aquarium glass

I have an aqurium and on the back of it, there is a big sticker from the manufacturer. I already set it up and everything, and I didn't notice it before, but when put a black background on it, the sticker looks really obtrusive. I tried getting the sticker off by hand and using a knife, but to no avail. It is too sticky. Do you guys have any tips for getting a stuck sticker off of glass? Maybe nail polish or detergent? Please help.

Are there fish in this tank, and is the sticker on the inside glass or outside? This will really affect a lot of people's advice. As for mine, it depends on the sticker being more of a paper based one than a plastic one and also that you have exhausted everything including a razor used as a scraper (which is what they use in auto shops to remove pesky state inspection stickers, tags, etc.)

Cover the tank completely even if there are no fish and there is no water in it. Cover it tightly with a trash bag and then tie a string tight all the way around it so as little air as possile can get in. Now, get some WD-40 and saturate the sticker. Use razor and remove. This would be a last resort and only under the circumstances listed above. Really, ay sticker should come off with a razor blade. Check a hardware or automotive shop and ask for a windshield scraper to remove plastic stickers.

Googone, as long as its not inside the tank and you are very careful. (Make sure to excessively wipe with water after as well.)

I like to use a hair dryer, or a heat gun to remove stickers. Start at a corner of the sticker, and heat it, gradually pulling the sticker off, and heating as you go. If I don't have either of those, I use a razorblade scraper, and then some goo gone to remove the sticky residue. I used to have a can of stuff called Xenit , it's citrus based, and removes oil and sticky stuff better than anything I've ever seen.

BTW, the sticker is on the outside and made of paper.

Yeah, Good Idea... Spray it with Liquid Solution like Mr Muscle or any bathroom cleaner and then after 3 to 5 min. scrub it with cloth. It will remove the residue or the adhesive of the sticker.

If it still won't come off take some suran wrap or a plastic bag and some windex, the kind with ammonia. Spray the sticker really good and cover it with something that will keep it air tight. The suran wrap or plastic bag will keep the air out of it and keep the ammonia from evapurating. Let it set for like a hour and the ammonia should break down the glue, then jsut wipe it clean. This is what they do to get tint off of car windows which is pretty much a permanent bond.
