removing algae from decor

How should I safely remove the algae from my tank decor without removing the paint or ruining the plants? I have a ship wreck and a couple of stumps with plastic plants attached to them.

Soaking them in a bleach solution say 20:1 water to bleach would probably do it.... If not add alittle more bleach and just let it soak. Just be sure to rinse everything good afterwards and also let them soak in some water with alot of dechlorinator in it for awhile to neutralize any bleach left before adding back to tank.

+ a gentle scrub with a toothbrush. might have to soak/scrub/repeat a few times depending on how clean you want it.

Molded Plastic items like plants can probably stand a stronger solution, be very careful of course...

ditto on using dechlor after...
