Removing algae from top of water

I have a lot of algae floating on the top of my water, it's too fine to remove with my fishnet, it just goes through, whats the best way to remove it?

Are you sure its algae?

I've never done this myself, but i know people soak up grease slicks with paper towels. Just place it on the top of the water and then remove it.

Increasing surface agitation may prevent it as well.

What colour is it? Can you gave us more info?

It's green, sure looks like some kind of filmy plant material, it's in the water some too, kinda takes the clarity out of water. If it's not algae I don't know what it is. But how to get rid of it?
