Hello,
I just recently purchased a 200 gallon that is a bit of a fixer-upper. The person before me had reptiles and painted one side of the tank. All that is left of it now is a slight residue. Is there anything I can use to remove it? Thank you.

A razor blade.

Here is a picture of what it looks like.

ask what kind of paint he used then find the correct countermeasure to remove it without tainting the glass with some toxic substance that will leech into the water

I just used a razor to remove paint last night, just hold the blade flat against the glass and it wont scratch. It took me about 10 minutes to clean the tank and the paint came off like a pealed blister

The paint is on the outside of the tank, and I don't know the person who originally had it. I bought it from a woman who got it as it is right now and just never had the time to fix it up.

That is great, because I was going to suggest a razor blade too.
