Rena Canister Filters

I saw one of my friends have one of these filters on a freshwater tank and it looked very nice. Are these good for marine tanks too? I just have a HOB filter on my tank now and the Rena looks like it would be a lot more efficient than mine. What do you think?

Well it looks like you have enough LR but how much flow do you have, I dont like any filters on SW tanks I prefer LR good flow, refugium and skimmer. Canisters and hob filters tend to aid in high nitrates unless cleaned often so I would say get a good hang on skimmer and stop useing the hob and cannister filters or even better try to set up a fuge and add a skimmer in it.

I think I have 800 GPH with a Koralia 2 and a Rio 600. I don't really have the space for a refugium. So what would be a good HOB skimmer?

I like the Aqua C Remora and the the hang on Octopus is suppose to be a good one
