Rena Filstar xP ... outtake/intake hose length...

nursie: When I originally connected them I couldn't even get them onto the conenctors, so I lubed the connectors with vaseline... then applied the clamps when the hose was in place. When removing, I wedged the clamps open, but still couldn't pull the hoses off the connectors. But I was looking to cut the hoses down so I cut them and then just hacked the 3-4" left on the connectors apart with a knife. :)
 
I used Petroleum Jelly because the risk to my fishes is minimal when some of it eventually mixes with water, inevitable so I think... I would try to find out what that pool stuff is made of before using it in the aquarium!?!?

switch to the clear hose @ the aquarium or hardware store ,those filstar hoses are too flacid. the hardwear store also has t connecters & such for under a buck.they come in various sizes & I think the one that worked 4 me was .75 or 1/2 inch diameter.Bring a sample of your hose as a guide.Go with inside diameter of hose . you can reuse your black hose clamps if you wish.
