Okay I have a Rena XP3 Filter on a 60 gal tank...what my question is what is the best filter media I could put into the XP3 to get rid of all the small particles floating in the tank? I guess to polish the water.....

I would guess some kind of polishing pad or filter floss.

Yeah someone else on another also told me filter floss...I actually have a polishing pad in there but they are not made for xp3 I think they are for a fluval so I had to cut them to fit but it still has some gaps.....

You can buy polishing pad in LFS for the xp3, They go on inside top of the 3rd compartment.

I personally have my bio media at top, i just bought some bio balls to add. Then I have some foam... 20 ppi I think, 4 layers of it, then carbon in my last basket.

just go to walmart in the sewing dept. and buy a bag of poly floss its very cheap and use that in your filter tray and your water will clear up pretty fast. dont buy the flame retardent floss they have regular and flame retardent and it will say on the bag if it is treated. i been using this for years and it works great.

Oh really I was checking it out on other forums and they say not to buy that, but if you say you have been using it for years maybe I should give it a try....

Rena sells 2 different microfiltration pads for their xP series of filters. They're widely available at LFS. I got a box of 3 pads for around $10.
