In my main tank, I'm having a problem with BBA growing in my slow growing plants. Annubias, javafern and dwarf sag all have BBA. They jsut look dirty and I'm tired of seeing it. I've decided I need to replace these plants with some that will be more resistent, and I assume faster growing. The other plants in the tank include

Cabomba Carolina
Amazon Swords
Wysteria
Willow Hygro
Hygro Poly
Rotala Indica

Most of these plants get trimmed regularly because they grow so fast, so maybe that's why the BBA isn't on them. The swords have a bit, but pruning out a few leaves here and there isn't a problem.

I'm thinking of replacing the dwarf sag with Hygro Compakt. Who has experience with this? Is it as fast of a grower as the other hygros? Will it prove resistent to the BBA?

Also, any other recomendations for plants that would work well in a moderately lit tank that would roughly fill the spot of some java fern and annubias?

bba is a real pain to eradicate. i tried a lot of things but my best was 6 true SAE ( bought from mgamer here on the forum ) they took care of the rocks and the plants. still growing out of the filter but nowhere else in the tank

I agree. My main problems came from what I believe to be CO2 fluctuations. Aside from trying to fix that issue, and removing the affected plants, there isn't much. I tried getting an SAE on a whim, but ended up with an impostor species.

It seemed to get it worse on slower growing species like my cryptocorynes. My rotala avoided it for the most part as did the vals. Granted, around the same time I had staghorn and hair algae popping up.

unfortunately, I have 4 true SAEs. I used to have the long, really bushy BBA, this stuff is short. I didn't even realize that's what it was until a few days ago. I think they're keeping it trimmed, but once that stuff is embedded in a leaf it can't actually get manualy removed. So it's like super short black velvet. As usual, it's only on the slow growers as well.

Any recommendations on foreground/mid ground plants that are faster growing and more resistent?

I get BBA occationally when my CO2 is low. I replace bottle, and up the bubbles per minute=== 1-2 weeks later all gone.

Looks like you need CO2.

i get the DT's occasionally when my keg runs low. i replace it and up the consumption 1 or 2 hours later alls good..... looks like jess needs a cold one.... just a joke yall i never let the keg get that far down

I do have co2 but it could be turned down too low. IT's always yellow/green in the drop checker so I dunno :-( I'll turn it up higher and see how it goes forward. I think these plants are loss though because I'd basically have to prune them bald to remove what's there.
