I have a request for anyone who keeps crayfish, as pets or feeders:

If you have a camera with flash, could you take pictures of your crayfish (any species, morph or hybrid) so that they produce eye shine in the photograph?

A friend of mine pointed out (of photographs he's seen or taken) that white crayfish produce a white eye shine when photographed with flash. Where as any other species or color morph seems to display an orange, yellow or red eye shine.

I ran through all the photos I've taken, and this seems to be true. But I was curious to see if exceptions could be produced in other species, color morphs and white morphs. I'm kind of curious as to why the white morphs seem to be the only ones producing white eye shine, but I'd like to see if I can find any exceptions to this before continuing research on it.

Thanks to anyone who chooses to help out!

Oh, and I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

Awesome, thanks!
