heres my newly rescaped tank. I took out my holey rock and added more of the same I had in there. I still need a little bit more to build it up another layer or 2. I do like it, and the fish seem to enjoy so far...hard to see all the crevices that are in there, but theres a ton....better? worse? oh, in the far right is my egg tumbler if you were curious....

it looks very crisp and clean. It looks much better in my opinion

thanks guys. I decided to be uniform with my setup. the holey rock was really functional before, so I moved it to my 40 gallon. I also took out 2 of my cfl's, one on each side. gives a better feel. much less blinding, lol... do you guys think I should leave it as is, or stack up another 2 shelves or so on the right side?

Are those cichlids? They look like them, i think the design is wonderful...just make sure that those rocks are really secure. My cichlids I got about 3mo ago already rearrange everything and nothing is in order, they knock things off and I am wondering if one of those rocks fall are you going to have a cracked tank?

Yea, african mbuna cichlids. stock list is 9 demasoni, 7 Msobo, 7 Red zebra, 1 maingano. The rocks are VERY secure. I test them in the water, and short of me pushing them off, they are very secure. this tank doesnt have too many diggers. my maingano used to be a huge digger, but he has slowed down. My 40 has my male mbamba who is crazy. he trys but he can only dig to the eggcrate underneath, lol... the msobo and red zebra stock will be weeded down when the juvies show who is male and female...

Yep agree the look is nicer with an all uniform section of the same stones.. good job..

i think its fine.you dont have to stack the rocks to the top if all the africans have a spot.i posted pics of my new setup(sorrow503)but i have so much rock in my 125,and there are so many spots to hide, they have options.someone said i need to go higher, but i will only add a little more when i put more africans in.
