Rescued death-row discus...

Just as well. That's fish's picture is next to the dictionary entry for the word "cull". If it was me I'd have euthanized it as soon as I got it.

If he hadn't shown any signs of improvement, then I wouldn't have tried. I would have rather given him a chance, than let him suffer in a tank at a store or cull him upon arriving home.

I am very grateful for her recovery. Thank you. Here she is this morning at her rehab center. :) She should be coming back home in a few days. I think she looks so beautiful in this picture. She's sitting in a chair by herself!

That's really good news about your grandmother. She is adorable.

I am sorry to hear about your fish, though. I am thinking good thoughts for you.

I am so glad Granny's doing good. She looks like a real firecraker- especially if she knew this picture was meant for worldwide distribution over the internet and let you take it anyway!

I'm sorry about the discus, but no animal could have asked for more effort or care. I am glad his last days were spent as comfortable and clean as possible.

dang...this is by far my favourite thread
the one I would wake up every morning and check in on

I'm very glad to hear your grandma is doing much better

Things have a funny way of working themselves out like that sometimes (especially when you make a deal with the man upstairs)

I'm sorry to hear about Trooper and your mass losses...but I agree that you gave the fish a much better environment for the time you had it and kudos to you for having a heart big enough to try

I hope your grandmother has a full recovery and lives the rest of her days pain free and happy

I actually heard a similar story from one of our employees here at my work
I won't HJ the thread with the story though

You are truly blessed and a kind and compassionate human being

I think you may have actually changed a few people in regards to giving up on fish so easily (myself included)

well done!
