rescuing fish from neglect- help me do this right

So my office has a fishtank. Apparently, in a cost-cutting measure, they canceled the maintenance, and were just waiting for the fish to die off. (!) I don't know exactly how long the poor little guys have been neglected, but the tank they were in was nasty.

By the time I learned of this, there were only two fish left. I've brought them home and I'm acclimating them to the water in my quarantine tank as I write this.

I'm planning on keeping them quarantined for at least 2 or 3 weeks, but before I add them to my regular tank I want to make sure they will play nicely with my other fish. I have a 50 gallon tank with 4 dwarf neon rainbows, 2 clown loaches, one swordtail, a pair of otocinclus and a small pleco.

The two rescued fish are a boesemani rainbow and a redtail botia loach. I'm not worried about the rainbow; I think he'll be fine. Will the redtail botia loach get along with the fish I already have, or do I need to try to find another home for him? The redtail botia is about 4 inches long; the pair of clown loaches I have are about 3.5 inches long. The pleco is fully grown- I've had it for nearly four years, and it's still just about 4.5 inches long.

Is my 50 gallon big enough for all this? Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.

Here is a link to a photo. http://loaches.com/species_pages/schistura_subfusca.html . I think you are talking about the Schistura subfusca. It is a very peaceful fish. fine substrate required--but since you have the two clowns in an existing tank it should not be an issue.

Long term you will need a tank larger than the 55 for the clowns. they do get rather large.

Actually, what I have appears to be botia modesta. It seems botia modesta goes by a lot of different common names, sorry for the confusion. I'd try posting a picture, but he's hiding out in the bit of t-shaped PVC piping I have as a shelter in the quarantine tank. He doesn't bother the rainbow at all.
