Resiliconeing an aquarium.

Looks desolate. Simple. Clean. Eary.
Looks great for the look you're going for. I'm use to beautiful flowing plants with lots of color...boy do I feel like a :girl:

So what did you do? Razor all the old stuff off or just go over it? Looks like you took all the old off but it's hard to tell with pics.

Thanks for the praise.Yes I razored all of the old crap silicone out of there, and added brand new.It was a chore getting all of the old out,but I'm glad I did. This tank was bought by my uncle in the late 70's (1978 I think). All the old silicone was turning to powder.

So what kind of fish go in a tank like that? White or albino, like ghosts? Very interesting. And thanks for asking about resealing.

I have a 10 gallon that was resealed once - new silicone over old. But I can't put a third layer over or it will be half way up the sides. So I guess I have to get all the old stuff off. But me and a razor blade..... just might not be such a good idea.

I have a male and a female convict in there,I'm trying to breed them.

Do yourself a favor, and get a razorblade holder, you can find them in any paint supply store (cheap).

OK, great, didn't know there was such a thing. That will help.... but sharp objects and me don't mix... I even try to avoid kitchen knives, and vegetable peelers, cheese graters...

Do NOT do anything that may jeopardize those wonderful hands kveeti!!!! They do such beautiful work!

I like the idea of albino fish :)
