Ok, I found a house that I want to buy in an area where I live about 45 minutes north of known as the Quad Cities (QCA) Iowa/ Illinois. I don't have a job, but I am going to graduate from college in 2 months with my Paralegal Assistant diploma. Since I found this trailor that I fell in love with, I have been looking non stop for a job and I have been sending cover letters and resumaes in like you wouldn't believe. I have 7 years expierence as a Receptionist, so that's what I have been sending all of my resumes to, is Receptionist positions. Anyways, I have been getting NO call back from anyone. I know that this can be from my poor work history, the fact that I am in school and the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere. Like I said, I am applying for jobs that are 45 minutes away, which isnt a real big deal. Most people don't know where Charlotte, IA is because there is only 356 people here, so the places that I am applying at might think that I live on the other side of the state.
I want them to know that I can go to school any hours, so I can work any hours that they want me to work. Is there anyway that I can put that I am relocating to the QCA to see if that might help me get some call backs. I am just really frustrated. I want this house, plus I want a job.
What I mean by I can go to school any hours, is I can either go Monday through Thursday 9 am to Noon or Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 10 pm. I am very flexible, I just don't know how to let possible employers know this, and I don't know how to put this information in a cover letter, or if it is even appropriate to put it all in a cover letter. If it is, do you think that I should put the relocating bit in there, or even the flexible school hours?
Any advice will be appreciated, because I am at my wits end here. Thank you so much
