Hi
I always think that it's best to start with the basics . Where will the tank be located ? Stand ?How will water be changed ? What type of water do you have available. any problems with it?? Protecting the floor and so on .
This will give you a good idea what type of fish you will keep as well as how hard you want to work to maintain it.
have always been a fan of angels particularly when kept in pairs so you can watch the behaviour. and get them up to large size lol.
I came back to FW after about 15 years in SW and a VERY fancy wet/wet paludarium.. WAY too much maintenence and expense for an old man?? . I went with planted , with an auto change system .in a 75. . Have ben enjoying it maube a bit too much I still have an empty 125 that's just itching to get into the wall lol Maybe rifts of natives since I've never kept either and I could use my tap water.
Good luck with whatever you decide. There are a gazillion ways to set one up!!! gary
