When I added Rotala Macandra to my tank I also began iron supplementation to help it retain its color. About two weeks later I noticed Riccia growing amongst the Dwarf Hairgrass. I would remove it periodically, but eventually it spread everywhere! Each week I remove about a cupful from my 29 gal tank. Is this connected to the iron supplement, or did the Riccia just come aboard with the Rotala Macandra? Is there some method other than constant manual removal for dealing with it? Thanks

The riccia piggybacked off something.

Flourish Excel kills riccia pretty quickly. I only needed to dose once for it to kill all the riccia in my tank.

I dosed 15 ml a few days ago, but the Riccia continues to pearl and thrive. Would there be any harm to my tetras, rasboras, and SAE's if I now give the tank a 20 ml hit of Excel?

Maybe start doing daily doses of 5ml, treat it like BBA.

So Riccia is another plant that does not do well with Excel?
