RO/DI unit what one

I use a "Mighty Mite" from a place called Air water ice on line. It costs about $100. It hooks up to any sink easily. I use it to change water on my discus tank cause they are so sensitive. I make the water in a big clean Rubbermaid trash can. Put heater and bubbler in the can to have it ready for the fish and then use a pump to pump it to the tank. This is a little RO unit that makes a trash can full in about eight hours. It works great for my purposes.

OK

I well hook the ro Unit after my softener unless someone can tell be why not after reading a few articles they say it wont hurt the membrane it well help it

1. read question # 15 Q and A http://www.watts.com/pages/faq.asp?catId=2242&faqId=2

2. this article also says softener maybe needed to prolong the life of the RO

I can understand not using a water softer before the RO unit if you dont have it but i have a softener already installed
Thanks again
