RO/DI water storage question.

Well, I use 75% of the tank weekly. And that water is stored for 6 to 7 days. I do not circulate the water at all until I am about to use it. I have heard that some people actually use air pumps in their storage tanks.

When I begin cleaning my fish tanks, I dose the stock tank with Prime, and then turn on the pump that is attached to the tank. Keep in mind, this tank is hard plumbed with a pump the does two things. It pumps water out the bottom of the tank to the top of the tank (closed loop circulation) for mixing the RO and tap plus the Prime and then with the closure of one valve and opening another, I can direct the fresh water to the fish tanks for refilling. Does that make sense? I feel like I just rambled or something. Sorry!

I just use the normal square containers they sell at LFS to store water. For a larger container I know many people that use the 100G Rubbermaid bins to store water. I always fill them to the top to remove all the air then screw on the air tight top. Stored water for many months that way without issue. No flow, no heaters, no light. For mixing I use the Brute trashcans and a mag7 pump to stir it.

I would suggest you just toss in the cheapest smallest power head and let is keep the water moving and gas interchange happening.

I have a similar set up, I hard plumbed the filtration, drain, and refill system on my 125. I can divert the flow from my FX5 to the drain, and then I "Inject" refill water into the return line.. It works great. There are some pix of thin is the link in my signiture below..
I store about 50 gal of water with a 250 watt stealth heater in it set at 84F. I have no circuilation in the storage container. it it opague, and sealed.
