...The belt at the front is a replica of the Iroquois belt created to mark the treaty between the British and the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) Six Nations tribes. The treaty was drawn up on Nov 5, 1768 and signed by the Six Nations and the British at Fort Stanwix.

Great stuff - i am impressed !!!!!

I was also surprised to read about Fort Stanwix - its about 10 miles from where i live. LOL I see a lot of indian art around here ...
If i may be curious - any particular reason you picked this tribe ?

Blah, I think you guys have had enough for today!

Thank you VERY much for letting me do this.

...........So, I'm really an amateur at this stuff. I really hope to get good enough to make it full time.

Im just amazed at your talent, Roan. I like to think I could kick serious butt in oil painting but I don't think I could even touch the things you've done. You've captured things so so well!!

and amateur?? that's GOT to be a joke! ;)

I must say, you do have an eye for proportions, especially notable in your horses and human subjects...the Rockwood piece in particular.. and the detail... that's what really ties it all together in your work. Folds in the clothing, shadows in the horse's muscles and head. Very nice work. The Stark Store, Street View building comes right off the canvas. I was checking out the curtains and shades in the windows. Nice stuff. The time and effort really shows. I especially like the way your backgrounds and edges of the foreground melt away and have a slightly watery effect. ...And you're mutli-talented in crafts to boot! Wow!

Thanks, DD! I really do want to see your oils. When will you post them?

No joke :) Actually, I used to be a moderator in the Pastels Forum and the Critques Forum on the online artists' community, WetCanvas!

I wrote a few articles and stuff. Dunno if my writing is still there or not. Anyhow, yes, I'm an amateur. Compared to some of the people on there, I suck :)

I learned a lot from that place about art, composition, colors etc.,. and so forth, just like I am learning here about fish and water chemistry.

Matter of fact, I'm not proud to say that my work is so good because of WetCanvas! Without it and the people who post there, my work would never have gotten as good as it has.

This place, AC, has pretty much the same atmosphere as WC! does, which is why I'm still here and why my fish are still alive :)

Wow Roan!
You have talent!
Thanks Joe!

The "Star Birth" has spooked me somewhat. There are photos that show zoomed in portions of the photo near where the large star is in the middle. In that area ghostly images show up. Or course they aren't ghosts, but even so, they look like ghosts...
Sure they're not aliens? ;)

BTW, I'm a Capricorn, too :)

Excellent.
Thanks!

Any other talents we should know about? Rocket science, quantum physics....
That would be my son :)

Oh, here's one: I can read lips ;)

Seriously, I have a severe hearing loss, but in person you can't tell because I can read body lanugage and lips extremely well. It's fun stuff for eaves dropping 4 tables away in a restaurant :)

How nice!! and to think we have kid's prank to thank for seeing all this. Wonderful work!

I used to paint, sketch, sew, knit and do a lot of craft work before I got married and had kids. I am slowly getting back into it.

To change the subject..where did you get your table? I am looking for a tile topped kitchen table, preferabley without the tile, or with tile I can replace. I tiled my kitchen backsplashes and have some leftover tiles I'd like to put in a table top for my kitchen.
