Rock Scaping, 1st try...

Here is what I have came up with for my 55g. Not sure if I am going cichlid route or Community. Is that enough or would it look better stacked up even higher? I have about twice that much rock to work with... Image attached (sorry, it is a crappy cell phone pic).

I like that look a lot - have you left space at the back and sides between rock and tank ?

I'd go a lil higher, and if you want this look :

1. take out a few from the end - shorten the line.
2. run a much lower/smaller line from back right hand corner (the empty back corner) diagonally right to left towards the front of tank, so you have it sort of overlapping the main line.

But its good as is - nice job
 
The rock is cut straight so it can sit as flush as possible to the back. The left side is a wall so that is why I stacked up on that side too. But here is round 2, I think a lot smother line and added a bit more rock.

There are some pretty good shelters in there. Probably a bit more than what driftwood could get. All of these rocks (granite) where free from a tombstone scrap dump site in case you are wondering where I got them. There must of been a 1/4 acre of this stuff piled several feet high.
