rocks inside canister filter

Iknow a canister filter is not the best for saltwater systems, but it is all I have right now,Ive removed all the sponge and put live rock inside it,for mechanical filtration I put a sponge on a powerhead,will this be ok until I get a sump hooked up?

yes, all additional live rock filtration will help you along...i would remove the sponge on the powerhead though...thats personal preference as i hate sponges in marine systems...
