Rome Bans Goldfish Bowls!

Seems like Italy has not lost its love of fascism. You can own the property, but the government tells you what you can and can't do with it. Disgusting.

I'm not a fan of govenment making laws telling people what they can and can't do unless it inpinges on someone elses rights. I mean is the legality of goldfish bowls really something that the government of a supposedly free country should be concerned with. I think not. Animal abuse laws are one thing, but goldfish bowls.......

Show me one country that does not do this in one way or another and you may have a valid point;)
Actually, you do have a valid point in that the "bowls" are being outlawed. In one of the other threads on this, I posed the question if a 10 gallon goldfish bowl would be worse than a one gallon mini tank. This is one of those laws that looks great on paper(that is, the reasoning is goodhearted), and simply stinks in practice. It is based on animal cruelty laws, but there is no way to word it to work properly, and no way to accuratly enforce it.
