Hello again!

Proud to report that my 10 gal. now is virtually completed with three Serpea, three Black Skirt Tetra and three blood fin tetra. The water parameters are all fine, there are fake plants, a tall castle like thing which nobody goes into, and a piece of driftwood about 4 in. wide by 5 in. tall.

Question: I find Adolfo's Cories sooo pretty (and entertaining). Do I have room for maybe two? I know they don't like to be alone. Or is there a smaller variety that looks similar?

Thank you!!

There are several varieties than resemble the adolfos color pattern, but I beleive they are all in the 2" range. Check out Planet catfish, I was just admiring these cories yesterday.

Since the bottom is free there is technically room for a couple of them. But that will mean a heavy bioload so you will have to be really diligent about tank cleaning. And don't forget that you have to get sinking tablets for them as they won't thrive on left overs alone.

Probably once a week is fine. Do about 25-30% change. But get a test kit and at least for the first while keep checking to see if there are any ammonia spikes or nitrite buildups. You may wish to get some live plants to help keep the water levels a little better. If you don't want to work at new plants a lot then I would suggest getting some Java Fern. Doesn't need much to keep going, low light and the roots will just grab on (eventually) to whatever is nearby. Good beginner plant.

At least outside a tank I am known as the best plant killer around. They see me, they die. I would much rather not take on live plants, as I am not even capable of keeping herbs going....
