root ok for the aquarium

are maple roots ok for the fish tank and what do i need to do to treat it? or get it ready.

Never delt with roots before..i would imagine it would rot underwater though..

i would soak it at least 2 weeks to be sure, and make sure no pesticides on it

2 weeks is a long time. i just boiled it for a couple hours each day for 3 days.

I would soak it in water for atleast a month to see if it rots or not. I thought the wood had to be dried/dead for it to be good to use in aquariums.

not really, people on AC have soaked their DW for over 1 year and that is real DW, not maple
