Hi Friends !

I just got a small lilly plant which has completely rusty-red leaves. The plant has very long roots (almost as long or even longer than the plant itself - i guess about 4 or 5 inches long)

How do I plant this ? Can I cut the root a little to make it short ? or can I just bury the folded root in the gravel ? I dont think it will be possible to dig the gravel so deep to completely house the entire root length...

Kindly guide me friends...
Thanks !

Is it a bog plant or really aquatic??
You can always trim some roots back and then just ball the roots up a bit and and then plant it, but sounds like you would need a deep subtrate too.

I do have a good depth in substrate (about 4 inches) but the roots are really very long... I'll try to take a pic asap... but anyways, is it ok to cut the roots a little and then burry then in the gravel ?

Hi friends...

Just took a few pics. Kindly help me with what plant (lilly) is this and how do I handle the looooong roots :)

btw some of those leaves look pretty damaged, you can cut them off by the root and new ones will come out in matter of days.

Heres how mine looks in my 29g (and thats after trimming it, a few days later i trimmed the floating leaves again)
