Rotten Egg Smelling Snail Water

I syphon with my gravel vac, all the while stirring up the gravel. My gravel is about about 2 inches deep give or take in spots.

So now what? Just keep on doing daily water changes in the hopes that something changes? Should I get a bigger filter mabey?? I didn't THINK that one betta and 7 dime sized snails were going to be too much for my tank - I mean - mabey as they grew - I knew Id have to upgrade their tank size from the 10 gallon, but not this soon.

Snails do stress the bioload, as I have read, producing a lot of waste. Also you put in 7 snails, are you sure there isn't more now?

2-inch substrate all over seems normal...how much of a java moss covering though? (It's rooted in the substrate right?) Perhaps under there is the problem.

The java moss just floats around and hangs off of my plastic planting - it gets stirred too much to remove the dust to have ever rooted. I know for certain I dont have more then 7 snails. They are too young to lay eggs. I shouldn't have to worry about babies for another couple of months. Brigs lay their eggs above the water line, and it takes 2 - 4 weeks for them to hatch. So I would know when babies are comeing.

No, I think you'll be alright as long as you keep on with your water changes. A couple of years ago, I lost a tank full of fish in a 55 gallon because of anaerobic toxins released from the gravel but consistent water changes helped that out and taught me a very valuable lesson.

peeeee ewwwww .. the snails farted :D lol.. just kidding ..
hope you get this figured out .. we had a problem after changeing the gravel in a 30g extra high tank that had a few mollies and a YoYo loach and a red devil .. the water in the tank smelled like when a cat sprays his territory .. it took a couple of water changes and the smell went away .. and no the cats did not get up there and spray in the water ...lol. we also at the time had disturbed the undergravel filter system .. but it is all back to normal now ..

good luck
