I cam home last night to stressed clowns in the qt tank..closer look and the filter for the tank was not running properly..not at all..no water flow..(since this is a newer set up and the filtration houses all the bacteria..I suspected a cycle crash..tested water..ammonia was up to .5 nitrites to .5+ my poor clowns..I felt terrible.

then in the middle of the night something crashed in to the wall where the power supply is for the 110 main tank..I found the tank with no power at 4 am..traced the issue and restarted everything..I can only hope it wasn't out that long and what the impact was to the corals and lone tomini tang..then checking on my clowns....dead..crap..now I feel really bad as they are one of my favorite fish..now I have to stabilze the qt tank as more fish are set to arrive tuesday..sheesh..
chalk it all up to experience..
btw.I have been testing the qt tank every few days..as it appeared to be stable and cycling corrctly over the course of the last 2 weeks.

Sorry about your mishaps....:jaw:

bummer!

I'm just hoping my tomini is fine..he's been thru a lot lately and is touging it out really well

he's got the 110 to himself but he has improved steadily since the ich outbreak almost 3 weeks ago.his color is back to normal , fins healing and hungry as all get out..now I hope the power outtage wasn't too stressful on him.. I am running the UV 25 watt sterilizer to get a jump on the ich and using reefsafe ich treatment just in case.
new fish are due to arrive(lucky we have a good source) he was able to tack on clowns to replace the ones I lost some green reef chromis and a blue(hippo) tang. he also got a killer deal on a Scopas tang. I have 2 tanks I can use for qt 10 and a 20 so I hope to have the bases covered.
