I lost my royal gramma to ich and she was really covered with spots and scratching a lot, but the other fish showed no signs of it and are still fine. I bought this quick cure medication in case I saw symptoms and also garlic extract. But why would only one fish get it? I've had her for almost a month and she was fine up until a few days ago.

Always sad to lose a fish :(.
Some fish are more prone to ich than others, so maybe there was only a small number of parasites present and the gramma got them all, and the other fish were able to fight them off or more immune to the parasite. I've read that many wrasses are more immune to parasites than other fish too.
