Royal Pleco in my cichlid tank yes or no

Royals get pretty big and they like to move around 72 by 24 is min. for a full grown one or they just look ridicoulsly large in a smaller tank. They get twelve inches long(min), but you also have to realize that they get almost 6 inches wide. I had a full grown one in a 48 by 18 and it did not have enough room. Plus they add a huge amount pf waste to the system and eat huge amounts of cucumber blood worms when they reach that size.

Depending on temp(lower temp they will grow fairly slow), stocking levels that may affect stunting, water changes. They need large water changes they also need wood in the tank for them to survive. A 2" plec could grow from 2 inches per year to 6" from stoires ive heard and personal experience. Even a two inch royal will beat the crap out of a 4 inch redtail cat in a 55 they are extremly aggressive, and can do some serious damage to other catfish at any size.(bottom dwellers) Oh yeah that red tail will grow out of that tank in about five months even if you severly stunt it(by reducing awater changes). It will also eat all of your cichlids plecos cats etc.
