I was looiking through a fish magazine and they had an article on Royal Tetras. They only get about neon size and are easier to keep and breed than the emperor tetra(similar colors though).

Anyone get their hands on these? Anything I see on the web are overseas sites. Most sites have info but not in English.

Opinions? Comments?

Hey NG, I have never seen them before, they do look alot like an Emporer. Beautiful little fish. I'll check with my LFS, they hand pick down in Tampa every week, and see if available.

I talked to my fish guy, there was nothing by that name on his availability list but he will check when he goes down Tuesday.

thanks Riiz, I think the second picture is supposed to be one, but looks somewhat different. $7.50! per tetra!! without shipping. Geez. Says they perfer soft somewhat acidic water. I have to think about that.

I had a school of those little guys several years ago. I bought them at Petco of all places. They're lovely little tetras. Very active and very pretty. If I could find more, I'd take them in a heartbeat. I have hard water and a high pH and the ones I had never had a problem with it.

www.liveaquaria.com has them for sale. Is Inpaichthys kerriin the bottom pic?
All pics show Inpaichthys kerri. The difference between Nematobrycon palmeri and Inpaichthys kerri is that the latter has adipose fin (between caudal and dorsal fins).;) I've had these before. They're pigs when they eat.
