My rubber-lip pleco is not cleaning off the brown spots off the acrylic tank. Do i need to wait until he gfets acclimated? or is there something about acrylic tanks that I do not know! :(

My experience has been with glass tanks. The rubber-;lip has done well on my glass tanks. :)

How long has he been in the tank? it could be he jsut needs time to get used to it.

BUt in my experiences with rubber nose plecos they aren't really the best algae eaters. Mine have never really shown to make a dent in my algae.

Since the algae is just on teh sides why don't you try wiping it off. Or maybe try otos they are the best brown algae eaters.

I dont' think it has anythign to do with the tank being acrylic

I am not sure the speices of your fish, but it is very common for plecos to have ahard time adapting to tank life, sometimes taking more than a month to adapt to thier new home properly, so this could be part of the issue.

My rubber lip pleco is an eating machine. He is always moving around eating off the glass. Day and night. I guess its just up to the fish, some are good, others dont.
