I would like to convert my 55g to a sa cichlid tank. Right now i have 3 angels 1 opaline gourami 1 blue gourami 1 common pleco 1 royal pleco 1 pictus cat and 2 irredesent sharks in this tank. My question is witch fish should i remove from the tank?I know the plecos and sharks get very big so i plan on removing them just not sure how or what to do with them.I got them before doing reserch and thinking.Now i reserch everything before acting.I have 4 german blue rams i would like to put in the 55g.What else can i put in the 55g?

you're getting a bigger tank for the pleco's?
why not make that the SA tank?
add the rams, angels, maybe some festivum.
how big of a tank?
or keep the angels and rams in the 55 add some cories(6). maybe festivum or keyholes.
place plenty of driftood in the tank.

I was not planning on getting a bigger tank for the plecos hoping to just find them another home or maybe return them to my lfs.The common pleco is quite large so im not sure how to move him.Any suggestions?
ive seen some common plecos in excess of 24" easily....they are a lot of fun to catch also....when I worked at a LFS we would catch the biggest ones by hand and hope we didnt get horned....quite amusing for the customers but a b*tch for us.
you should return the common pleco; it will get far to big for your tank. same goes for the ID shark. the "smallest" species get sot 3 feet long... the biggest to 9'. if im not mistaken, dont royals get to a foot long? if so, they is to big for your tank. removing it will also open up alot of usable bioload in your tank.
you should also get rid fo the gouramis. they are both the smae species, and their specpeis is aggressive with one another and with other fish that are smaller than they are. not for the community tank.

a school of 12 tetras like diamonds would finish off the tank.
